Talks and Podcasts
I'm at my happiest when I'm advocating for something I believe in. In recent years, that has primarily been a trustworthy, ethical, and transparent approach to artificial intelligence. In particular, I'm very interested in how AI will impact the creative industries.
On this page you'll find details of some talks I've given recently as well as podcasts I have hosted, produced, and edited.
Spring 2026 will see the release of my latest podcast project - a 7-part series I hosted for BRAID (Bridging Responsible AI Divides) exploring artistic representations of the future of AI.

I was interviewed by a student from Queen Margaret University about the impact generative AI may have on the creative industries.
This was the first keynote I gave on the subject of AI. I was drafted in at the last minute when my boss took ill, so a fair amount of this speech was improvised.
The Last Question was a podcast I created where my co-host (Lily Higham, the other half of my band) and I spoke to people at the cutting edge of scientific research and speculative thinking - from quantum computing to nanotechnology, sci-fi authors to ethicists, from transhumanism to space environmentalism. While it ran, the podcast was in the top 20% of podcasts by listeners.
I also hosted, produced and edited the Scottish AI Alliance podcast while it ran under my tenure. Episodes included:
AI and the Future of Democracy with Gina Neff (Cambridge University)
AI and Religion with Beth Singler (University of Zurich)
Ghosts in the Machine: and enquiry into AI and dreaming with Oliver Sprigg (artist)
