Lily Higham and I have been releasing music as Post Coal Prom Queen since 2017. Our music is often about the future and highly speculative topics, overlapping with much of my career to date. We've garnered critical acclaim, been awarded Creative Scotland funding for two projects, and have played shows in the UK and internationally.
In order to differentiate ourselves from other bands, we have an extensive fictional lore that we draw upon - primarily the imaginary megacorporation 'PCPQ Industries'. This satirical and tongue-in-cheek way of approaching our communications gives us the freedom to push the boundaries of what is commonly accepted as 'normal' in the Scottish music industry. You can see a small selection of our music below or explore our full catalogue here: https://postcoalpromqueen.bandcamp.com
In the band I play guitar, bass, synth, and piano and for many of our releases I do the recording, mixing, producing, and mastering.
